Guy’s parents’ house, where Guy had set up a studio in the un-used greenhouse, was not far from Franklin Canyon Park and he would often take his subjects there to photograph them. The Simon & Garfunkel session, the Rolling Stones ‘High Tides & Green Grass’ cover, and ‘The Marble Index’ shoot with Nico were all done in Franklin Canyon.
“We spent the day together and we had a great time. After the shoot was over it was getting dim outside, I took them over to meet my parents at my father’s house. Paul says ‘Would you like to hear our song? I don’t have the record with me but we’ll play it for you.’ So he goes out to the car, brings back a guitar and Art sits right next to him and the two of them sing ‘Sounds of Silence’ for my father and me in the living room.”
