“I was a tour photographer for a band called The Dead Daisies when they booked The Uproar Festival. It was a touring festival going all over US with Alice in Chains and Jane’s Addiction being headliners. I hadn’t seen either of those bands play live prior to that, so I was excited to have the opportunity to see them quite often during the six-week tour. Seeing Perry’s performance on stage made me want to photograph all of their shows and I fell in love with their music immediately. I don’t think my photographs are good unless I love what I see and hear. It’s a connection and intimacy that creates the perfect image. And this one is one of them for me.
