Ohio Valley Jazz Festival, Cincinnati, 1963

Ferguson was known for his ability to hit high notes on the trumpet. He played in many big bands before forming his own band. The photo here is a rare one of him playing the trombone while fronting his own band in 1963 at the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival.
