On May 7, 1967, the Jimi Hendrix Experience played two sets at the Saville Theatre in London. In between, Alec made his way back stage and managed to grab a few photos as Hendrix was presented with a gift by none other than Chris Jagger, (whose brother Mick had a fairly successful band at the time): a beautiful psychedelic jacket, hand-painted by Chris himself. Hendrix loved the jacket so much he would later wear it during Karl Ferris’s photo shoot for the cover of the U.S. version of the Are You Experienced? album. The jacket from the jacket now lives in the memorabilia collection of the Hard Rock Café and was last seen at the Warsaw, Poland location.
